The Igloo shaped dog kennels are incredibly stylish and are proving incredibly popular at the moment. Unique and different from most ordinary dog kennels. The Igloos have many practical benefits as well as looking good!

The Indigo Igloo Dog Kennel from Petmate is fully insulated and has a porch area which allows the dog a greater area to sleep in. The dog kennel features a movable vent in the top that allows air to flow in and out of the kennel.

The shape of the dog kennel allows for greater circulation whilst remaining warm in winter and cool in summer. The base has a channel around the edge to allow any water inside the kennel to flow to the edge. The floor of the kennel is raised up off the ground.

All the indigo dog kennel sizes are available with optional pads and doors, purchased separately. The pad is a vinyl cover over foam pad shaped to fit the floor of the kennel. The cover is waterproof and can be washed.

  I think the large may be better we usually ask our customers to measure from the nose to the base of his tail, which will give you the length you will need for your kennel.

Hi i am thinking of buying the Indigo Igloo for my lab x collie, 2 things - what size would you recommend he is nothing like the size of either of the above and only measures 30" from the tip of his nose to the base of his tail also would you recommend the indigo igloo or the dogloo KD pro and why? Thanks

  I would suggest the indigo. Better than the KD pro because it is made of 2 pieces supplied assembled (excl pad and door) and is therefore more robust and less likely to have drafts. The KD pro is in 4 pieces for self assembly. You may get away with the medium. It is 17 inches to the top of the doorway. check this against the height of your dog at the shoulder. The cosier the fit the cosier the dog will be.

• Q. I would appreciate some advice. I am shortly to buy a working cocker spaniel who whilst at work am wanting to allow to stay in the garden when fully grown. I am thinking of purchasing a kennel for shelter and was wondering which would be suitable. I have been looking at the dogloo kd pro's and the indigo igloo model. I realise that choice is personal but a recommendation of which would be more suitable would be appreciated. Also would you advise to buy the large for a working cocker spaniel. Finally are these kennel suitable to allow the dog to sleep outside in it. I am not planning to during the winter but during the summer when the weather was mild I would quite like the option to use the kennel in this way. Tracy Walker

  In my opinion the Indigo Igloo is more suitable, it has a porch so less rain will get in and I would think the Large Indigo would be perfect for a fully grown cocker spaniel.

  The Vent is a tube which rotates from an open to closed position allowing moist air to escape from the top, reducing condensation.

  We feel this would be a good kennel for most medium sized dogs. But it really comes down to the dogs size; please measure nose to base of his tail to make sure he will fit in, his height to ensure that they will be able to get in, and if you measure how the dog normally sleeps. the sleeping position is to ensure that the kennel foot print id of the right size for the dog.

• Q. I am interested in the medium Indigo Igloo for my English Bulldog, she is quite small for a bulldog and the height and length sound about right for her but she had fairly broad shoulders and I'm a bit concerned she wouldn't fit through the entrance? Thanku in advance.

  We only have this available in one colour, as you can see in the photo, the top picture looks darker as it has been taken indoors and the bottom photo looks like it was taken outdoors so the item looks lights in colour but it is in fact the same item and colour.

  I would say the Medium would be ok or the large - the only way to check is to measure the dog from base of neck to floor, then base of neck to base of tale and put the measurements against the size of the igloo to see which one is suitable. But like I say, the medium would be the best size for a whippet. Hope this helps?
