• Q. Hi, could you maybe let me know if the top that holds the food locks into place on the feeder (my cat is crafty) and also what sort of quantity is half a cup? he normally gets fed roughly 45g of dry food a day. My wife and i are interested because we are going on holiday for 2 weeks and although my mother in law is going to be coming over to feed the cat, we just want to make sure he is fed.   A. Hi Tony,

  The feeder twists together and has a screw top to cover the food. The bowl attached to the feeder holds 2 cups of food so half a cup is a quarter of the capacity of the bowl, it's hard to judge weight as all cat food is different hope this helps.
