  The cage does not require a cover unless you want to black the animal or bird out overnight for example. The cover would need to reflect the size of the cage, so 66cm long, 45cm wide and at least 90cm deep. The W24xD22xH52 bird cage cover would be the right size for this cage. • Q. Hi there, does this cage have a flat base so i can put paper down and then sand onto it for a cockatiel, I believe cockatiels like to move around on the bottom and they would do so on the ground in the wild. Many thanks. Linda McKay

  There is a grill at the bottom of the cage, this can be removed leaving the flat bottom for the bird to access.

  With the grill removed the bird will not be able to escape.

  This cage would be suitable for your parrotlet, however we think that the san Remo would be better rather than the mini. It will give your pet a lot more space.
