• I love dogs, I have 4, but as much as I love them I don't want to live in a glorified kennel and I'm particularly talking doggy odours here! I have found that the softer baskets quickly develop the wet dog smell, especially if you have long haired dogs who get muddy every walk and spend half of their time being wet. These are practical mattresses which provide all the comfort of a fluffy basket but has the advantage of being able to just hose it down or pop it into the washing machine and it dries really quickly. I have tried many baskets over the years but for me these are the best. They are more expensive but they do seem to last and more importantly for me they retain less odour because they are so easy to wash. I'm very happy. As extra comfort I do sometimes put vet bedding on top but that's more for my elderly dog.
